In this article Ostinelli tackles the 'prominent calves' problem and asserts that rather than it being a problem that should largely be addressed by the tailor (i.e. through ironwork), it is rather an issue that can be successfully addressed at the cutting stage. Also that it is more about posture in relation to the position of the pelvis - essentially forward thrust of the pelvis - and flattening the seat, rather than specifically 'prominent calves'.
