I have an earlier edition of The Art of Garment Making which is good but much less detailed than the later edition which I found on the predecessor to this site nearly a decade ago.  I printed off the Trouser making chapter but have now lost it and can't find it again on line.  Any one know where it might be if its still available?

The chapter is particularly valuable because it is one of the very few detailed written descriptions of how to make trousers the old bespoke way, which I how i like doing it.  I have made enough pairs now to be able to get by without it but I miss not having it to hand for reference.

Savile Row proprietor and cutter/tailor Patrick Grant recently published a similar book called The Savile Row Suit: the art of bespoke tailoring. It covers the bespoke method for making trousers, waistcoat, shirt and coat. Although very good, it doesn't explore the various alternatives when carrying out a procedure, as is sometimes the case with Whife's book (it's always nice to have options, rather than one approach only).

Thanks Gerry - this had become my bible and I am so pleased to see it again!
