$1 rayon lining - Did I win? Should I go back for more?

I forgot that I have a local craft supply recycling store and went there to look for various trimmings that I need. I found some 1 cm cotton twill tape which I grabbed up, and a roll of mystery lining fabric at $1/yd. It has obviously been there for a long time judging from the brittle masking tape with the price on it. I bought a couple yards to see if it was worth having around.

A burn test shows that it is probably some kind of rayon. Definitely not polyester or nylon. Could be a rayon/blend? So the next question is, is it inferior acetate? It seems the ideal test for this is very high concentration acetic acid, which I obviously do not have just sitting around. But I have read that acetate rayon will readily dissolve in acetone. I have had a swatch sitting in a jar of acetone for about 30 minutes now and it looks like it's still in tact except for the dye which has been completely dissolved.

Any thoughts? Should I go back and buy a whole lot more?

I just remembered that I have a scrap of known acetate rayon. Dropped it into the jar and it was dissolved in less than a minute. So that should confirm that this is definitely not acetate.

Looks Like a classical sleeve lining to me. Is it single width?

It's about 40 inches wide. Sleeve lining is exactly what I was thinking it would be great for.

Further testing. I took the swatch out of the acetone and found that all of the colored yarns had completely dissolved. I burned what was left and there is still no hint of polyester, so my working theory is that this is a viscose/acetate blend. Probably with more viscose than acetate. Not the best, but not terrible. I think I will grab a few more yards.
