Title: Hostek trouser book trimming scale.
Post by: Blackthorn on April 28, 2019, 08:32:21 AM
I'm working on a trouser draft and construction using Hostek's Pattern and Trouser books.
While working with the trouser trimming section I've noticed that where a pattern is supposed to be 1/4 or 1/2 scale. The math and the arrows denoting lengths do not seem to indicate scale of 1/4 making it difficult to draft the actual trimmings via translating it to pattern paper w/ a ruler.

Does anyone have any experience with recreating the trimming patterns from his scaled down versions in the Men's Trousers book?
I'm wondering if maybe the scale is off in the new printings or if anyone has some working copies of actual scale trimmings from his methods.

do you have the new "perfect bound" paper backs or the older spiral bound? I noticed the new edition the pages are not scaled right and all the scaled bits are off. which piece are you looking at?

I do have the newer paper bound books. I've been examining all of the pocketing and lining pieces that he's arranged on the selicia.
