Title: Seam allowances in MTOC Vol 2. Ed 4.
Post by: Unfortunate.soul on August 07, 2024, 11:57:58 PM
Hello,

I am using the MTOC as found here: https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.461011/page/n260/mode/2up
to draft a greatcoat and can't quite figure out if there are any seams included in the draft and what size.

Thank you

I think I found on p201 that all the drafts have a quarter of an inch unless stated otherwise. Sorry to waste everyone's time.

Back is most likely sewn in the marks. Be sure to add all the inlays where they belong, and perhaps a few more. The pattern guess might be off for the customer at hand. Inlays help with properly placing the seams where they belong.

Mostly MTOC already had 1/4 inch seam included, except for the centre back seam. You need to check the across back part describtion for the draft, see if it is across back measurement plus 1/4 or 1/2
