My apologies if this is the wrong place to post.

Not a great deal if information to work with certainly but i've an existing gents short jacket pattern with a double vented back - i've attached an image of the pattern i'm using.

Front, chest, shoulders, around the arm all sit well but the vents are kicking terribly regardless of size. I was just wondering if anyone could see anything based simply from the attached - i'm thinking the angle of the side panel into the back is incorrect (as i think it's only angling in at around 3 degrees), what angle would you all typically work with?

Very much appreciate any assistance.

It´s hard to say without seeing the kicking vent. Your pattern lacks the chest, waist and hip line, so it´s difficult to interpret.
Wich angle do you mean? Can you mark it in the sketch? Usually pattern systems don´t work with angles. Does your´s?

When you baste the vents closed for fitting, the issues and stressed lines will be more obvious.

Was this traced from a finished garment? The flank part looks odd...
