I just found out that David P. Coffin passed away a few days ago.  It was posted on the "Stitchers Guild" forum.

He contributed a number of things that helped people make better shirts.
It is disappointing to see he died so young. Expected him to be around for another 10 - 20 years.
Well, we all got to go sometime.

Coming across a copy of his shirt making book several years ago at  my local library reignited my desire to sew again and to delve further into the study of tailoring. His painstaking observations of construction of both shirts and trousers, is a boon to any home sewist attempting to "up their game" and understand why clothing is created in certain ways.

His other accomplishments are also quite onteresting:

Peace be with you, David. You will be missed.

So Sorry to hear that.

Thankyou Spookytoo, for bringing this to our attention.

I liked his books a lot.  They were excellent compendiums of Style.
